Every patient has dignity and worth as a human being and, in order to lead a healthy life, has the following rights along with the corresponding responsibilities and duties.
① Patients have the right to be respected as persons, on the basis of their dignity and worth as human beings.
② Patients have the right to receive equal medical services without discrimination for any reason, including nationality, gender, age, religion, economic or social status, or type of illness.
③ Patients have the right to choose their doctor and medical institution in order to receive the best possible care.
④ Patients have the right to receive medical treatment from lawfully qualified medical professionals.
⑤ Patients and their guardians have the right to request information and records concerning the patient's medical records.
⑥ Patients and their guardians have the right to receive an explanation of the patient's condition and of the purpose, method, content and outcome of treatment, and to choose a method of treatment or to refuse treatment.
⑦ Patients and their guardians have the right to receive an explanation of the content of any document related to medical treatment before signing it.
⑧ Patients and their guardians have the right to know the details of the medical expenses incurred for treatment.
⑨ Patients have the right not to have any confidential information about their illness, treatment or private life violated.
⑩ Patients and their guardians have the right to express their opinions and receive a response when they are dissatisfied with medical services or any other matter within the hospital.
① Patients are responsible for providing the medical staff, directly or through a legal representative, with matters relevant to their care, such as current symptoms, past medical history, medication and other records.
② Patients are responsible for asking when there is something they do not understand about their own treatment.
③ Patients are responsible for taking part in the treatment plan recommended by the medical staff and cooperating with treatment.
④ Patients are responsible for the consequences of not following the treatment plan.
⑤ Patients are responsible for respecting other patients and the medical staff, and for treating the hospital's property with care.
⑥ Patients are responsible for fulfilling their financial obligations related to treatment.
⑦ Patients are responsible for following the hospital's rules and regulations.
